    -Great Books- Empty -Great Books-

Post by Guest Mon May 19, 2008 2:31 pm

Did you guys ever read "Hatchet" or "The Diary of Anne Frank" (There are more books about Anne Frank, this is only one of them)

The Hatchet is about a boy who goes on a plane to visit his father. The pilot has a heart attack on the plane. The boy has to fly the plane without a pilot. (Only the boy and the pilot are on the plane) The plane crashes in a forest lake. Now the boy is stuck in the forest. It's mainly about a boy who survived in the wilderness with only a hatchet that his mother gave him.

Do you guys know who Anne Frank is? If you haven't than this explains who she is. She is a jewish girl who lived in Germany in the 1900s. The Nazis had something against Jewish people. Anne Frank and her family and some friends hid a tiny building. I think it was her father's work building. They hid for months and months. And if they got caught they would be relocated to a work camp. Anne and her family and friends were caught one day. It's really sad. This is a true story.

I read Ann Frank when I was in only the Third Grade!!!!!! I loved how they hid behind the book shelf and I thought it was really cool how they invited all the people to live with them in that tight space... I could go on forever but you'll need to read the book.

It's pretty sad how the Jewish citizens get treated though. =(

I obly got to read like 2 pages of it. We had a evil 60 second challange read @ school. and i got through 2 pages. Im reading a really good book right now called Wild Ochid, it is about a girl with Aspergers Syndrom, and they go to a popular Saskatchewan lake (waskisu) for the summer. and she takes a new liking to nature, and yeah. i like it.
